Four Regional Offices are participating in TIGER: the Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD) in Kenya, the AGRHYMET Regional Centre (ARC) in Niger, the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) in South Africa and the Sahara and Sahel Observatory (OSS) in Tunisia.
The role of the Regional Offices is twofold: on the one hand they support TIGER in raising awareness in Africa about the potential benefits related to EO for water management, on the other hand they act as local centres of knowledge, training stakeholders in the use of EO for water monitoring and assessment.
TIGER collaborates with the Regional Offices to understand the specific needs to the respective regions and aims to enable the Regional Offices to train their local stakeholders in the use of EO for water resource management.
