Water Observation and Information System for Flood Monitoring Training course

The event is organized by the TIGER Capacity Building Facility, Makerere University and AARSE from 29 October to 1 November 2016 in Kampala, Uganda.
The course will cover the following topics in three days (+1 day study tour):
- Introduction to the Water Observation and Information System
- ESA’s Sentinel Programme – data acquisition
- Application fields: flood monitoring and wetland mapping
- How to build your own workflow?
The event is targeted for water and environmental specialists with Earth observation background, working in government agencies, catchment management agencies, NGO’s and research institutions. Prior knowledge of water resources assessment/agriculture/environmental management is welcome and some practical background in the use of EO/GIS is necessary.
